At least once a day this week, stop and:
Say the verse: “Be still and know that I am God.”
Say the prayer: “Lord, I give everyone and everything to you.”
Day 1: Read Psalm 46:1. The psalmist uses words like refuge and strength to describe God. What two words would you use to describe God’s help for you?
Day 2: Read Psalm 46:2-3. What fears are you facing today that you need to give to God?
Day 3: Read Psalm 46:4-6. What images remind you of God’s presence, power, and peace when your world feels like it’s being shaken?
Day 4: Read Psalm 46:8-9. We are invited to see God in the beauty of creation. The psalmist invites us to see God in the desolations before us. What beauty leads you
to praise God? What “desolations” lead you to recognize and rejoice in God’s presence with you?
Day 5: Read Psalm 46:7, 11. When everything is shaking in your life, God remains unshakeable. Where is life shaking? How is our unshakeable God holding on to
Day 6: Read Psalm 46:10. Be still. Cease striving. Stop. What prevents you from taking time with God each day? Living aware of His presence?
Bonus Question: What has been your experience this week with daily stopping and saying the verse: “Be still and know that I am God.” And saying the prayer: “Lord, I give everyone and everything to you.”
