Monday: Read Titus 2:11 (NIV, BELIEVE p. 388). How has the grace of God appeared in your life? How does grace empower you with self-control? What is one specific area this week where you long for God’s grace to bring self-control? Will you pray about this area every day this week?
Wednesday: Read Luke 15:20 (NIV, BELIEVE p. 399). How does grace motivate self-control in your life? Where have you experienced God’s forgiveness? Where do you need to experience God’s forgiveness today?
Thursday: Read Titus 2:12 (NIV, BELIEVE p. 388). Where is God’s grace teaching you to say “no” to ungodliness? Where do you need a greater measure of God’s grace in dealing with the temptations ungodly desires bring? Where do you need God’s forgiveness for past and present sin? Where do you need God’s power for present and future faithfulness?
Friday: Read Luke 15:28-29 (NIV), Luke 15:31-32 (NIV). Why did the older son miss his father’s grace? What is the danger of self-control under my own power in my relationship with myself? Others? God?
Saturday: Read Titus 2:13 (NIV, BELIEVE p. 388). What motivates you to live life with self-control? How does the hope of heaven encourage you to live a life of self-control? Why is grace, not guilt, the power God uses to build self-control in our life today and our life for all eternity?
